Tradition for raising nursery teachers

Our Department had its 45th anniversary in Heisei 19 (2007). We have a tradition and specialty of educating nursing teachers, called “Hokenshitsu no Sensei.” During the two years of junior college students acquire the necessary specialized knowledge as well as cultivate their basic abilities to support children’s development of a healthy mind and body. This is in pursuance of the goal of obtaining the nursing teacher’s qualification. We aim to train students so that they may have the skills to apply at their workplaces immediately. Nursing teachers treat children of different ages from kindergarten to high school. This is the right college for somebody like you who loves children and wants to learn about children.

Applicable for co-medical staff

We have also started medical secretary classes based on the specialized program for nursing teacher’s license. We train co-medical staff such as secretaries of professors of medical universities, assistants for medical technicians, and medical clerks. This is suitable for students who want to study subjects related not just to the occupation of a nursery teacher, but also to the medical field generally and to broaden their employment opportunities.

In pursuance of the development of beauty of mind and body

It is extremely important for people working in the medical nursing field, in which they are required to meet people constantly, to have an inner beauty in addition to knowledge and skills. This shows rich humanity. In our department, we aim to train elegant and responsible women suitable for a highly specialized profession. We will provide education in pursuance of the development of beauty of mind and body in regular or special classes. This includes lectures in beauty-related matters such as etiquette and make-up. Course Content

■Nursing outline II

Program for nursing teacher license (yougou kyoyu nishu menkyo)

After two years of studying and completing this program in our department, you will get the license of nursing teacher by applying to the board of education in your prefecture. This is good for students who wish to get a specialized license related to school-nursing in a short period of time and get a job immediately. To enhance the knowledge and skills related to the students’ specialties, we provide subjects related to school-nursing, counseling, nursing, medical emergency, anatomy, body-function, and medicine. We also provide the essence of education, and its purpose and meaning since nursing teachers have important positions as teachers at schools.

■Nursing science practice I

Program for medical secretary

You will be able to study the necessary practical matters for co-medical staff, such as medical secretary, medical and social security, medical information, and medical prices. These are connected with the knowledge and skills about medicine broadly learned in the program for nursing teacher license. As a result, you can aim to pass the exam of medical record locater, medical management secretary, clinical research coordinator, and “Yakugaku kentei.”

Classes for the license exam conducted by local government for nursery school teacher

You can study for this exam effectively because the content of the first exam is similar to that of many areas of the program for the nursing teacher license. In addition, we provide special classes for the art field, which is a part of the second exam.

Demonstrative School Infirmary

Our department helps students to acquire solid skills through practice, which can be instantly utilized in schools. For that purpose we created the Demonstrative School Infirmary so that you can learn how to deal with children and how to take care of their minds on a practical basis. You can use this room for relaxation or for studying for the teacher’s exam outside class hours.

Hand-made teaching materials

Have you heard the word “Shoku-iku (education for food)” recently? You have to teach children about health of mind and body, using various models and hand-made teaching materials when you go for practical training in schools. We also keep a lot of real medicine necessary for “Yaku-iku (education for medicine).

Teeth model

One of the important roles for a nursing teacher is to promote health education. A nursing teacher must teach various things related to body and mind. Among these, teaching how to brush teeth is a routine task. Children are happy to work on it if you explain and use the huge teeth model.
