Short-term and long-term overseas language study training programs are a part of the curriculum. With assistance from native-speaking instructors and the useful CALL system of language learning, students are instructed so that they can make a marked improvement in their English language ability, which will serve them in good stead as members of society. Support is also given to students who want to take the English STEP test (Eiken) or the TOEIC test.

3. Dynamic domestic and overseas field work research programs

As part of the curriculum, students have the opportunity to conduct domestic or overseas field work research. Students can conduct research in the actual place of their selection, whether in Japan or overseas, regarding themes of their choice. We have a system to support research expenses.

Kyujo's Outstanding Points

Calligraphy Room

In the calligraphy room we not only conduct practical and lecture classes, but students can also practice freely on their own, so that they may enhance their ability in the art of calligraphy. In Heisei 17 (2005) a new room was added due to the start of a new special course. We will become a part of the leading calligraphy stream in Kyushu.

Personal Computer Room

The personal computer room in Kogakkan building is equivalent to that of a department of information processing. Students can use this room so as to study more effectively basic and specialized information subjects. As a special room for the Department of Humanities we also have a seminar room, which is equipped with Apple computers (famous for iPod) for a small number of students. In these rooms students can utilize an English learning System whereby they can study at their own pace. Students can also learn necessary work-related presentation skills using personal computers.
